Emme Griffith

Emme Griffith is an American mezzo-soprano who captivates audiences with their warm, rich tone and expressive artistry. Praised by conductors and directors alike as a delight to work with, they are recognized not only for their musical talent but also for the maturity and professionalism they bring to every rehearsal and performance.

Emme has studied classical voice for ten years and currently trains under Professor Renée Tatum at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Faculty members comment that they are “struck by the color and richness of [their] voice.” After finishing their Master’s in Vocal Performance in May of 2026, they continue to refine and polish their instrument with dedication and artistry as a student in UT Knoxville’s Artist Certificate Program in Vocal Performance.

Emme has sung the roles of Ruggiero in Alcina and Alma March in Little Women with the Trentino Music Festival, as well as Mère Jeanne in Dialogues des Carmélites with UT Opera Theater. Recently, she sang the roles of the Gamekeeper’s Wife, Owl, and Woodpecker in UTOT’s production of LeošJanáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen. This fall, they are excited to be singing the role of Elizabeth Proctor in UTOT’s production of The Crucible.

Outside the rehearsal room, Emme enjoys coaching and training at their local CrossFit gym. This practice not only gives them a keen awareness of the body’s muscular structure but also helps them develop the stamina and physicality required for the demanding roles they enjoy performing on stage.
